Enthusiastic and brimming with youthful talent, Russ Thornburg has been playing guitar since he was big enough to hold it. He can often be found listening to his favorite albums from the Doors and Incubus on repeat while his family tries to convince him to turn the volume down a couple notches. Russ masterfully combines the sounds of guitar legends like Jimmy Page and Neil Young to create a style of his own. Russ’s powerful guitar lines breathe life into Asterhouse’s songs.
John Thornburg is the heart and soul of Asterhouse, bringing a passionate personality to their music. His lyrics and musical style have been strongly influenced by artists such as Wilco, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Bob Dylan. John perfected his Jim Morrison impersonation by the time he was four years old and has been performing ever since. When he’s not on stage, John also teaches bands of tomorrow at Jam Academy in Woodinville.
Julio Posada brings an essence of balance and unity that holds Asterhouse together. He has been playing with the Thornburg brothers for six years and is an essential bridge that brings their two styles together. A connoisseur of both the classic sounds of The Who and the more modern lines of Nine Inch Nails, Julio acts as a grounding influence that seamlessly holds each of Asterhouse’s songs together.
